If you have worked on Search Engine Marketing, you will realize that it is heck of a lot of work. It is a whole cycle of:
- Finding the keywords to target
- Crafting Ads for each keyword
- Monitoring the position of these ads and changing the CPC accordingly
- blah blah blah…
That is a lot of work… especially if you are doing a long tail targeted campaign with thousands of keywords to market.
Apparently, some people feel that such work should be automated.. and there are a whole series of companies who are investing in automating this process. Just read an article about Kenshoo - Intelligent Campaign Automation. Hmmm.. Kenshoo might be a good alternative than most Search Engine Marketing Consultants.
To do it effectively, SEM has to be automated. There is really no choice about it. It is grossly labor intensive…
Other similar software competing in the space are:
- DoubleClick
- Atlas Solution (by aQuantive)
- Omniture
- Will definitely do a review on these when time permits…
